I Believe in The Word - September 21, 2008 - Guest speaker Steve Doerksen

September 21st - I believe in the Word - Pastor Steve Doerkson
Join us as we celebrate our first year as a church with Pastor Steve Doerkson from Mountain Vista Church on Buckeye. Pastor Steve and his church has been a great blessing to Elevation on our first year and in this message he encourages our people to be a church based on the Word of God. To look at the truth in God's Word and be a church that reflects that truth. In doing so we will be revealing the nature of God to our community. Just as by reading the Word of God we begin to understand the true nature of God we as people and as the church are like a book that people around us read. Listen in as Pastor Steve explains how we can reveal the true nature of God through to others through our lives and be the "Word of God" to them!

I Believe in Prayer - September 14, 2008

September 14th - I believe in Prayer: Pastor Kenny Koger
In John 10:27 Jesus says "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me." Do you believe you hear the voice of the Great Shepherd? You know prayer is communication with God. Could you imagine having someone on the other end of the phone and having a conversation with them where you were the only one talking the entire time? (yeah, I know - sometimes you can't get a word in edgewise with someone and it feels like that!) No- a good conversation with someone is obviously two way. Communication. Sharing. Listening. Many times we're too busy talking to God about our needs that we totally forget to stop and listen. Or maybe you really haven't tried listening before. I'll say it again - Do you believe you can hear the voice of God? Listen in to this message and understand the ways that God speaks to us and how we can be sure that it is indeed the Lord - remember it is Jesus promise that we hear His voice and follow Him!

I Believe in Hope - September 7, 2008

September 7th - I believe in Hope: Pastor Kenny Koger
One of my favorite movies of all time is "It's a Wonderful Life". At the beginning of the movie two angels are talking and Clarence asks the other angel if George is sick and he answers "No worse, he's discouraged." You know the enemy is always at work to try to steal our hope. If he can get our eyes fixed on our problems and take away our hope, he can bring us right to the edge of despair like George Bailey was in the movie. When Nehemiah was rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem his neighbors were doing everything they could to badmouth and discourage him. But he wouldn't let it happen - he fought for his hope and for his people and remembered the goodness of God. With their tools in one hand and a spear in the other the people fought for their families and for their future and rebuilt the walls. Be encouraged to keep your eyes fixed on Christ and filed with hope as you listen to this message.

Called to Worship - August 24, 2008

August 24th - Called to worship: Pastor Kenny Koger
Worship is a lifestyle. Who you are and what you do, when it's directed to the love of God, is worship. Corporate worship at a church service is very important - but there is so much more to worshipping God. Isaiah 58 says "Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke. Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter when you see the naked, to clothe him, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?" This passage is about true fasting - you could replace that with true prayer, true calling and true worship. When we are helping others to be free, breaking chains of hurt from people, sharing their physical needs - we are worshipping God indeed? What is the toothache or your heart? What injustices do you see that you feel something must be done about this? We are called to make a difference in peoples lives, and there is no truer expression of worship than doing just that...

Rekindled - August 17, 2008

August 17th - Rekindled: Pastor Kenny Koger
2 Timothy 1:6 says "For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you." God has given all of us unique gifts that He wants to us to use to be a blessing to others. He has formed each of us in a special, one-of-a-kind way. We can choose to let these gifts rise up and become
prevalent in our lives or we can allow them to grow cold and useless. Here's an illustration - when we go camping and make a bonfire even the next morning when we wake up you can still find red hot embers burning deep beneath the ash. Those embers can be used to start a new fire if you expose them, add some more fuel and fan them to life. In the same way, we need to allow the Lord to brush away the waste in our lives so He can breathe His Spirit into us and awaken our spirits and the gifts He has given us. Listen in on this message and get rekindled.

Finding our Future through our Past - August 10th, 2008 - Pastor Brian Seymore

“Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on” Php 3:13-14. Sometimes we have to reclaim what we once had in order to grow and move forward. Looking back at your life and the times when you were closest to the Lord - what do you need to reclaim?

Called to Grow - August 3rd, 2008 -

“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness." Col 2:6-7.
When we can truly ask "what?" and not "why?" we can grow in Christ the way God wants us to. Get rid of all your why's and replace fear with trust.

Freedom to Wait - July 27th, 2008 -

“But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31. What an impact it makes in our lives if we are truly able to wait on God. This message will give you life as you understand from God's Word what he is up to while we are waiting - and give you strength to continue on when you can't see the end of the road...

The Freedom of Giving your Nothing - July 13th, 2008 - Pastor Brian Seymore

In Judges 6 an angel appeared to Gideon and called him a mighty warrior. Gideon did not feel like a mighty warrior - in fact he went on and on with all the reasons why he wasn't. Listen as Pastor Brian shares how the Lord takes what little we do have, and even what we don't have and uses our lives for His glory regardless. The Lord welcomes us to give our nothing to Him.

The Price of Freedom - July 6th, 2008 - Pastor Kenny Koger

“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” Galatians 5:1 - Tonight we look at the price our forefathers paid to purchase the freedom we have to worship, and how true freedom in our personal lives is not reacting to circumstances or religious institutions, but responding to the Lordship of Christ in our hearts.

The Body of Frankenstien or the Body of Christ - June 29th, 2008 - Jeremy Dyck

In this message Missionary Jeremy Dyck brings a powerful word about how the world perceives the body of Christ many times in a very negative way, and how we as Christians and as a church can better represent the love of God to our world in ways through a lifestyle of authentic love and acceptance.

Returning to the Simple - June 22nd - Pastor Kenny Koger

"They worshipped together at the temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity - all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of the people. And each day the Lord added to their group those who were being saved.” Acts 2:46-47. Join us tonight as we talk about: the main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing.

Given Life to Give Life - June 6th, 2008 - Pastor Kenny Koger

One Stone at a Time - May 25th, 2008 - Pastor Kenny Koger

It's important for us to remember the things in our lives that have impacted us in significant ways and reflect upon the hand of the Lord in those times. In Joshua 4 when the nation of Israel crossed the Jordan to enter into the promised land Joshua had them put twelve stones of remembrance in the middle of the Jordan. He did this so all the people would remember the greatness of God in their lives. Have you forgotten some of the great things God has done in you and through you? Go forward into the next leg of your journey in life and be encouraged as you honor God for the things he has done for you.

The Heart of the Father - May 25th, 2008 Pastor Brian Seymore

If you begin to look around at the lives of people who are hurting and troubled the most you will find one thing in common - the lack of a dad. And this doesn’t just mean he’s gone physically. You can be fatherless while living in the same house with you dad but having zero relationship. Tonight we take time to examine the scripture about the heart of a father through the eyes of God - our spiritual Father. We’re praying for an outpouring of the love of the Father in your life, healing for those hurt by their relationship with their dad ( or lack thereof) and wisdom to be better fathers to our children.

Mother's Day Service - May 11th, 2008 Pastor Kenny Koger

On this very special day as we honor the moms in our lives and learn to understand the unique and powerful ways that the love of a mother affects our lives our entire lives. Take an in-depth look into the life of Mary, the mother of Jesus in a way you’ve never seen her before. A way that will inspire you and empower you to give love as well as teach you how to let go and let God.

The Family of God - May 5th, 2008 ------- Pastor Kenny Koger

Being a child of God is being part of the most incredible family in the world. Yet so many have been hurt by others in the church and the enemy has been able to seperate and devour them. We must value and guard our spiritual family and realize each and every member has an invaluable part to play - lets find our place in God’s family and help heal those that have been wounded!
