2 Timothy 1:6 says "For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you." God has given all of us unique gifts that He wants to us to use to be a blessing to others. He has formed each of us in a special, one-of-a-kind way. We can choose to let these gifts rise up and become
prevalent in our lives or we can allow them to grow cold and useless. Here's an illustration - when we go camping and make a bonfire even the next morning when we wake up you can still find red hot embers burning deep beneath the ash. Those embers can be used to start a new fire if you expose them, add some more fuel and fan them to life. In the same way, we need to allow the Lord to brush away the waste in our lives so He can breathe His Spirit into us and awaken our spirits and the gifts He has given us.
