September 7th - I believe in Hope: Pastor Kenny Koger
One of my favorite movies of all time is "It's a Wonderful Life". At the beginning of the movie two angels are talking and Clarence asks the other angel if George is sick and he answers "No worse, he's discouraged." You know the enemy is always at work to try to steal our hope. If he can get our eyes fixed on our problems and take away our hope, he can bring us right to the edge of despair like George Bailey was in the movie. When Nehemiah was rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem his neighbors were doing everything they could to badmouth and discourage him. But he wouldn't let it happen - he fought for his hope and for his people and remembered the goodness of God. With their tools in one hand and a spear in the other the people fought for their families and for their future and rebuilt the walls. Be encouraged to keep your eyes fixed on Christ and filed with hope as you listen to this message.

Called to Worship - August 24, 2008
August 24th - Called to worship: Pastor Kenny Koger
Worship is a lifestyle. Who you are and what you do, when it's directed to the love of God, is worship. Corporate worship at a church service is very important - but there is so much more to worshipping God. Isaiah 58 says "Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke. Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter when you see the naked, to clothe him, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?" This passage is about true fasting - you could replace that with true prayer, true calling and true worship. When we are helping others to be free, breaking chains of hurt from people, sharing their physical needs - we are worshipping God indeed? What is the toothache or your heart? What injustices do you see that you feel something must be done about this? We are called to make a difference in peoples lives, and there is no truer expression of worship than doing just that...

Rekindled - August 17, 2008
August 17th - Rekindled: Pastor Kenny Koger
2 Timothy 1:6 says "For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you." God has given all of us unique gifts that He wants to us to use to be a blessing to others. He has formed each of us in a special, one-of-a-kind way. We can choose to let these gifts rise up and become
prevalent in our lives or we can allow them to grow cold and useless. Here's an illustration - when we go camping and make a bonfire even the next morning when we wake up you can still find red hot embers burning deep beneath the ash. Those embers can be used to start a new fire if you expose them, add some more fuel and fan them to life. In the same way, we need to allow the Lord to brush away the waste in our lives so He can breathe His Spirit into us and awaken our spirits and the gifts He has given us. Listen in on this message and get rekindled.
